STORYTELLING SESSIONS

by Matt Wray

Storytelling provides children with a window to new worlds. It gives them the opportunity to learn new ideas and information; and without realizing it, they are learning valuable life lessons through hearing an engaging, exciting story.

Vocabulary, comprehension, sequencing, memory and creative writing all benefit from storytelling.

Tales / Inc.'s storytelling performances are tailormade around your school.

Our storytelling & Mini performances are perfect for Book Week, Storytelling Week, Library Openings & celebrations.

Your children will be encouraged to explore the plot and characters from the story physically and emotionally and re-create the story in their own words.

Location: We can come directly to your school and all we will require is access to a school hall/library or classroom depending on the number of children you would like to participate in the experience.

Tales / Inc. has the pleasure to announce that  American actor and educator Matt Wray will be joining us this season to perform and narrate two fantastic stories by authors Robert Fischer and W. W. Jacobs: The Knight in Rusty Armor and The Monkey's Paw.

The Knight In Rusty Armor

Narrated by American actor Matt Wray, it tells the tale of a knight obsessed with being a knight, so much so that he spends all his time in his armor and completely alienates his family. One day, he discovers that he cannot take his armor off, not even able to lift his visor for meals. He learns that the wizard Merlin may be able to help him, so he sets out to find him.

His journey begins with Merlin, who sends the knight on the Path of Truth, which includes detours through three castles; the Castle of Silence, the Castle of Knowledge, and the Castle of Will and Daring.

This play is a lighthearted tale of a desperate knight in search of his true self.  What you witness in this adventure story is the kind of internal “alchemy” that we should all go through at some point. There aren’t many stories that talk as simply yet as deeply about human transformation.

So, tell me: What’s Under Your Armor?
